This washed Ethiopian brings a balanced flavor profile, with a soft acidity. Reko makes for great chemex, Japanese pour over or iced coffee.
Apricot, Meyer Lemon, Black Tea
High in the Reko mountain area of Yirgacheffe’s Kochere woreda (district), elevated above other nearby farms at heights between 1950 and 2150 M.A.S.L., farmers harvest coffee for processing the the nearby Aricha washing station.
The varietals harvested are common to the region, a mixture of Kurume, local landraces, and disease-resistant JARC, but the unique micro climate and growing conditions give these their unique flavor profile.
The Aricha washing station processes coffee for several other coffee growing communities in the area. Fans of True North Ethiopians should look forward to this microlot from the sister station of one of our more recent favorites, Bishan Dimo.
